Where did the name "A Broad Named Betty" come from?
I developed it on my own, relishing the contrast between a wholesome, vintage sounding nickname for my full name, Elizabeth, and the idea of a coarse and indecent woman.  I like to think of myself as both vulgar and virtuous.

How long does it take you to write a post?
An embarrassingly lengthy amount of time.  I linger over every word, purse my lips in scrutiny at every thought.  What can I say?  I was blessed with a little disorder called Obsessive Compulsive.  In other words, anywhere from one to three hours, depending on my verbosity that day.

Where do you get the ideas for your posts?
Mostly from the humdrum happenings in my life.  Inspiration could come from blueberries in a plastic box or my latest male mishap.  I try to avoid at all costs things that matter, like politics, current events, and big abstract topics like death.  In other words, I just go about keeping my regular old idle, self-absorbed ego in tact and something comes to me.

Do you have any advice for people looking to start writing prose?
Don't get bogged down trying to tackle a piece about how to change the world, or what it means to be in love.  Keep a journal.  Consider carefully every word you collect, as though each prose piece you compose is actually a poem.  Read literature.  Try not to turn pretentious, and in fact nix using the term "pretentious" at all.

Oh, and don't take advice from people who don't know how to follow their own.
